The story of Pete, Andy, Linda and Sue (P.A.L.S)

Previewed in Birmingham, PALS attracted rave reviews and sell-out audiences. PALS is a contemporary comedy drama using 2 male and 2 female actors, multi-role playing, to tell the story of four working-class children growing up from birth to adulthood. The audience gets to know well all four central characters as well as meeting their parents, teachers, scout-leaders, bullies and friends. Set in the inner-city, the play has themes which anyone who has been a child and grown up can relate to. The play explores with humour and poignancy, universal themes of friendship, alienation and youthful innocence (and its loss).

The original production of PALS was directed by Julia Smith (Leicester Haymarket, Birmingham Rep, Belgrade Coventry.) and supported by Arts Council, West Midlands and Birmingham City Council. PALS is approximately 2 hours long, including one interval.
