ZIP: Gun & Knife Crime

Giant Olive Theatre Company presents

ZIP: Gun & Knife Crime Outreach

A child is shot or stabbed...
You know the murderer...
Would you tell the Police?
What if the murderer is your child/sister/brother?
ZIP explores the WHY of Gun & Knife Crime...

Giant Olive Theatre Company is launching ZIP: Gun & Knife Crime, an exciting non-profit theatre project which is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and Camden Council.

Giant Olive's dynamic team of theatre experts has lead a series of creative workshops with people affected by gun and knife crime and together we are creating and devising a performance which will be staged at the Giant Olive Theatre at the Lion & Unicorn, as part of the Camden Fringe Festival.  From 18 to 80, this project is open to anyone who wants to express the real stories behind the newspaper statistics.

We want to extend the value of the production by taking the show out into the community and to other communities that have been affected by gun and knife crime. We are looking for funding to help us to do so and technical support from volunteers wishing to get involved.

The theatre industry involves a number of different people with a range of skills. Sound technicians, set designers, box office managers, producers, directors and marketing managers all play a crucial role. By taking part in this project, participants are being made aware of the range of opportunities open to them and have the chance to work with trained professionals who will mentor them and help them to discover and develop their own particular skills and interests.
